Introduction

Epic Summary for Jira allows you to view progress against time estimates and story point estimates directly from the Epic.

Open Epic Summary for Jira

To open Epic Summary for Jira, simply click on the Epic Summary for Jira logo when viewing an issue. Please note that this will only work from Epics and not other issue types or subtasks.

Clicking on the symbol will open a new issue panel on the issue. You can later close this issue panel using the ellipsis (three dots) menu.

View Epic Summary

This is the default view.

On the left, it provides an overview of the sum-total of all issues in the Epic, including any subtasks. It summarises information regarding the sum-total of all story points of all issues vs the sum-total of story point of issues in a “done” status.

On the right it shows the sum-total of all time estimates of all issues in the Epic (including their subtasks), and it also shows how much time has been logged against issues and subtasks.

Issue Details View

The details view breaks this information down on a per-issue basis.

Note that for any issues with a story point estimate where the issue is in a “done” status, it shows a checkmark symbol next to the story point estimate.
